The flooding caused by Hurricane Irene has severely impacted our farm and all of the farms in Orange County’s black dirt region. Please check our blog for updates on how this is impacting our farm, and effecting our CSA pick-ups and farmers markets. Welcome to J&A Farm! We grow vegetables, sustainably and thoughtfully, on our farm in Goshen New York’s famous black dirt region. 2010 was our farm’s first year, we spent the year busy growing and selling vegetables and building our farm from the ground up with the help of some really wonderful friends and our 2 amazing children.
We began our new farm with decades of prior farming and marketing and food industry experience, and a lot of excitement and love for what we do, who we are doing it for, and what it means to grow food for our community. And of course we have the best bunch of customers and friends a person could ask for!
Our vegetables are available for sale at our farmers markets, our CSA program or direct to Chefs/Restaurants. We are all sold out of vegetables for the 2010 season. CSA applications for the 2011 season are now available and we will be back at our farmers markets in May or June. You can come visit us (and our vegetables) at one of our farmers markets from May/June through November, or join our CSA program for a seasonal harvest surprise basket every week from June through October. 2010 was a great 1st year and we had a wonderful growing season. We have so many people (and so many things) to be thankful for; we thank all of our CSA members, customers and friends who have put their faith in us and stood beside us. We dedicate our work to all of those who have helped us make our dream of J&A Farm possible, all of the friends who have lent a hand or an ear or offered kind words and encouragement, it is your farm too.

J&A Farm was founded in 2010 by husband and wife team, Jeff and Adina Bialas. Jeff has been farming since he was a little boy on his parent’s vegetable farm not far from where J&A Farm is today. Adina was already a life-long farmers market shopper when she met Jeff at her farmers market in NYC. After years of casual market pleasantries, they realized that although they were from two different worlds, they had much in common. They fell in love, married and had 2 wonderful children. In their spare time they dreamed of one day owning their own farm, a dream that is now a reality.
